Match 2 – Andover

Under 13 Girls

Andover Leisure Centre hosted match 2 of the Sportshall league with clubs from Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester, Havant & Aldershot competing.  Despite the superior size of these clubs, little old Andover & Overton fielded a strong team made up new stars to Sportshall and seasoned veterans. For three of the girls, Ella, Alicia and Emile it was their first attempt at Sportshall.

The track events started with a 2 lap sprint, Caitlin (28.8) and Amelia (28.0) secured a strong scoring start in 6th place whilst Alicia (29.6) & Molly (27.8) & Emile (32.1) contested as non scorers

Next up, the 4 lap sprint saw Ella (60.9) & Clara (64.5) finish in 4th place with Zara (66.9) competing as a non scorer

In the 6 lap time trial Sarah (90.7) & Alicia (100.5) finished third with Sarah recording the fastest time overall.

The field events were next where Caitlin (1.75m) & Alicia (1.64m) came 6th in the long jump with Ella (1.79m) as a non scorer.

In the vertical jump Ella (40) & Molly (49) did brilliantly in joint third place with Alicia (44) as a non scorer.

The Triple jump saw Molly (6.16) & Zara (5.46) finish a fantastic third with Emile (4.56) as a non scorer.

In the speed bounce Amelia (68) & Sarah (70) finished fourth with Clara (56) & Zara (65) as non scorers.

Finally in the shot put with Caitlin (5.33m) and Clara (4.99m) finished in 7th place.

The girls should be very proud of their achievements, the Sportshall league is all about team work, performing together and having a good time
